More than anything else, teamwork is about collaboration – how people work together. But far too often, the focus on the team’s work is so great that the people aspects of the team are dismissed as secondary. When that happens, team members work with less energy and determination, misunderstandings occur and the pursuit of the team’s goal is undermined. The relational aspects of teamwork are typically seen as a problem to overcome rather than a tool that should be used to produce higher performance.

What makes teamwork so challenging is that each person on the team has influence on each of the other team members. How team members affect each other is a critical – yet so often neglected – determinant of the success of the team. Yet even when teams want to focus on their relationships, they often feel that they don’t have the tools or language to draw out useful insights. However, within the 4-letter MBTI code are elements that can provide rich ground for meaningful conversations about how team members can increase their productivity through sustaining positive relationships.

In the presentation, Ray will highlight three critical issues that affect collaboration and how personality type can provide insights to help team members work harder, smarter and faster. What you will learn in this webinar is:

the role of Temperament in motivation

the impact of the J/P preferences on communication

the problem of opposites – using Jungian functions to gain insight into conflict triggers

For MBTI facilitators this presentation will provide highly applicable and easy to implement next steps after an MBTI introductory workshop. For team leaders or team members, the presentation will provide tools to anticipate and avoid common team pitfalls, and ways to foster greater productivity.

Do the decisions of your decision-making partners occasionally leave you perplexed? Do you ever wonder about what motivates others during decision making? Do your own decisions, at times, catch you by surprise? This webinar explores the ways in which personality preferences influence how individuals typically make decisions. It is designed to help you make better decisions and understand more about how others approach decision making through the application of type theory. Using an in-depth case study, we outline strengths and challenges for decision makers that flow from psychological type and demonstrate how type can illuminate similarities and differences in decision-making style. The case study also serves to illustrate how type can provide a neutral language in which to discuss difficult decisions and lessen the conflicts that can erupt during the decision-making process.

In addition to the importance of exploring your style in relation to that of your decision making partners, delving into the gifts and challenges your preferences bring can help you to become a more balanced decision maker. Good decision making requires attention to all eight preferences, the four represented by the letters type in your code as well as their four less practiced and less familiar opposites. With this in mind, we provide type development tips that promote decision-making excellence. Join us for an opportunity to reflect on your assumptions about decision making and leave with strategies that can be applied immediately to improve individual and group decision making for decisions large and small, personal and professional.

Objectives

Highlight ways in which psychological type influences decision making

Suggest how type knowledge can help reduce conflict during decision making

Explore methods for improving individual and group decision making

Make decision making more fun (or at least less stressful!)

Who Should Attend:
This webinar is for anyone interested in exploring the impact of personality preferences on decision making and more specifically, practitioners and leaders – managers counselors, consultants, coaches, trainers, human resource professionals, educators, etc. – who want to help their colleagues and/or clients develop their decision making.

One of the most pressing concerns in organizations of all sizes is the quality of their leadership. The global training and development market is very large (X Billion), and continues to grow, but organizations remain concerned about how prepared for the future their leaders are.

How can you ensure that your (or your clients’) organization will overcome this challenge? Why do leaders continue to be concerned, despite the size of the training and development budgets they fund, and the many employees who attend leadership development workshops? Most important, what can organizations (and you) do differently to change their leadership readiness trajectory?

In this presentation, Sharon will introduce what some executives have called “the world’s simplest leadership model.” She will outline three critical leadership abilities, link them to core aspects of emotional intelligence and personality type, citing proprietary research results, and offer a five step strategy for building a more robust leadership pool.

What you’ll learn:
1) What’s creating this leadership shortage
2) The new essence of leadership
3) Encouraging the emergence of more leaders – and considering personality type
4) “Leadership Intelligence” – when emotional intelligence meets leadership and personality type
5) The leaders role in developing leaders

Join this popular presenter, and walk away seeing your own role, and your own leadership potential, in a new light.

TypeLabs, a leading provider of online personality type resources and training, today announced the launch of a new online seminar “Transformational Leadership and Analytical Psychology” presented by Steve Myers, creator of the Management Team Role-indicator. “Research consistently shows that Transformational Leadership is more effective that other forms of leadership.” Myers said. “This new seminar is designed to show why practitioners need to move beyond psychological type to the alchemy of the unconscious in order to transcend the realms of Transactional and Transformational Leadership.”

The seminar will be presented live on January 26, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. — 2:30 p.m. EST. The seminar is affordably priced at a special reduced price of $79 per attendee.

“At TypeLabs, our goal is to provide our customers with exceptional value through access to on-demand expert content and resources.” said Kris Kiler, President of TypeLabs. “This seminar will be of interest to any type practitioner looking to get deeper into understanding transformational leadership.”

During the last 30 years James MacGregor Burns’ Transformational Leadership has become the most important and widely used leadership model in organisational, political, social and cultural development. Whilst making no assumptions about participants’ prior knowledge of Transformational Leadership, Steve Myers will introduce a distinctive perspective based on C.G. Jung’s analytical psychology, which will make this webinar of interest to all levels of experience. The webinar will begin by introducing and examining the concepts of transformation in Burns’ and Jung’s theories. Steve will show why practitioners need to move beyond psychological type to the alchemy of the unconscious in order to transcend the realms of Transactional and Transformational Leadership. He will discuss the unique insights offered by analytical psychology that suggest the use of strategies complementary to those used in mainstream transformational leadership development. He will include practical examples and discuss implications for practitioners in leadership coaching and development.

Objectives:
-	To establish a basic understanding of the concepts of transformation in Burns’ and Jung’s theories
- To position psychological type and Jung’s approach to alchemy within the framework of transactional and transformational leadership
- To explore the process of transformation within analytical psychology and how it affects and is affected by relationships between leader and follower(s)

About Majors PTI™
The Majors PTI™ is a 52-item instrument designed to help facilitate learning valuable information about how you direct your energy, take in information, make decisions and how you orient to your environment. This information reveals how your personality contributes to many aspects of life including your leadership methods, learning preferences and work/activity preferences.

About Majors PT-Elements™
The Majors PT-Elements is a 127 item questionnaire that helps your clients learn valuable information about their psychological type (common 16 personality types). The report provides results on the dichotomies of Energy acquisition and distribution, Extraversion (external) and Introversion (internal); Perceiving or attending to information, Sensing and iNtuiting; Deciding or making judgments, Thinking and Feeling; Orientation to living, Judgment and Perception. The reported result for the individual’s 16-type indication is given, as well as results on the 32 Elements sub-scales, which illuminate personality differences within the dichotomy or type. Finally, the all NEW “Elements of Personality Formation™” statements are given that help your clients understand some of the complex ways in which they interact with others and respond to situations. A professional report page is provided to help you give constructive feedback regarding all of the reported results.

While most professionals get certified in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®) instrument and don’t go farther than basic use, the more elite practitioners continue adding to their toolkit to get the most out of using the MBTI® instrument and its vast body of knowledge. Professionals understand the need to take it to the next level and use any means necessary to get the advanced application training that is so critical to your success and the success of your clients.

For many years, great teachers of personality type and type applications have engaged students around the globe through traditional seminar series and in-person sessions. It is truly our pleasure to bring eight of these great experts and their wealth of knowledge to you in DVD format for on-demand learning. It’s the excitement and joy of learning new applications and levels of personality type without the travel and expense!

“As we all know the world is filled with tremendously interesting people, even the ones who are hard to understand. My goal is to help you do your job – to utilize personality type to help people understand themselves and each other.” said the president of TypeLabs, Kris Kiler. “What you share with others about personality type ought to be a fair, accurate and insightful representation of all that personality type has to offer. And when it is, you and your clients will love the results. That, in a nutshell, is why TypeLabs exists.”

Self-understanding in both spoken and written form should not be difficult to understand and teach. But sometimes it can be. Our guarantee and commitment to you is to provide a convenient, cost-effective and high quality learning experience that makes this easy for professionals.

What participants said about the seminars…

“TypeLabs recent offerings of on-line training and professional learning for type practitioners and enthusiasts provided an impressive compilation of expert speakers from type communities around the world! Every one of the 8 programs resulted in some new learning, expanded insights, valuable tools and fresh approaches for more effective application and use of Type with my clients, as well as in both my professional development and personal life. Whether a new leadership model, or references to and suggested approaches for use of and integration with other existing type models and frameworks, this eclectic package provided for a very stimulating and rewarding experience, that I would strongly recommend to others.”
- Clare A. Poe MS, MFT

“It is my belief that knowledge plus the practical application of that knowledge equals wisdom. For me, wisdom is the key to success when leading people and helping them accomplish their goals. Kris Kiler’s Type Practitioners Blueprint put me on the road to a deeper knowledge and understanding of Type. Information gathered from the Blueprint was immediately put to work for the benefit of our staff. I would like to think that I will be a better leader tomorrow because of understanding and applying Type knowledge.

Adaptability is a hallmark of highly effective leaders. More specifically, effective leaders constantly adapt to their context and their people order to maximize their impact.

Adapting to the context involves reading the dynamics of a situation accurately, clarifying your objectives in the situation, and then responding with the leadership behaviors that are most likely to realize those objectives.

Adapting to your people involves shifting your own preferred interaction style behaviors to match the communication style preferences of those with whom you are interacting. Effective leadership requires that you adapt to both the context and your people simultaneously.

In this program, Scott Campbell will show you how to use the Social Styles personality type framework as a tool to better read and respond to both your circumstances and your people.

What you can expect to learn:

How each style’s preferred decision-making style provides a clue to reading your context.

How to determine specific leadership objectives when facing a leadership situation.

The key behaviors that build trust with each of the four social styles.

How to simultaneously balance adapting to the context while adapting to your people.

The most compelling training events with the longest lasting impacts are those that get participants up and moving, invite not only participant voices but their skepticism as well and enable everyone to leave the training ready to move from awareness to action. OKA has long used experiential techniques to bring type training to life crafting—through trial and error—a series of experiments, exercises, activities and action plans that greatly enhance a trainer’s ability to spark interest in type among her clients and to move them both to validate their types and to craft effective next steps.

In this program, Hile Rutledge of OKA will detail a number of training ideas, processing techniques and group exercises designed to expand a trainer’s options in working with groups. Including a review of frequently asked questions in type training and a frank discussion of “what ifs” (the dreaded mistakes and unexpected exercise outputs that can arise when drawing on group participation), this program will provide a number of new training ideas and breathe new life into designs that have gotten stale or too presenter-driven.

Objectives

Learn techniques to pre-sort experiment groups by reported type preferences to enable participants to explore type in action before results are handed back or type concepts are even discussed

Explore options of how to actively engage everyone—even participants whose preferences you do not know or who have not even taken a type assessment

Learn experiential training techniques uniquely tailored to large groups (50 to 80 or even higher) and others geared toward more intimate groups (4-8)

Learn the logic of timing gro up exercises—when to conduct them, when to process the output data, and how much emphasis to put on them.

Review effective answers to frequently asked type questions and get the chance to pass along your own challenging questions.
